In recent years, R&D toward 6G has become active in major coun- tries around the world. Especially Korea and Japan are actively engaged in various ways, so it seems necessary to accurately grasp the trends of R&D among the experts of these countries. Therefore, we have planned a workshop to introduce and discuss the trends toward 6G, led by KICS and KICS Japan Section. The first International Workshop on Mobile Communications and Ap- plications (IWMCA2024) aims at addressing advances in research on future mobile communications, covering topics ranging from technological issues to emerging applications. IWMCA2024 solicits original, unpublished contributions in all aspects of future mobile communications and applications.
